Freedom of information
The Parish Council of South Leigh and High Cogges (PC) is subject to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 by reason of Schedule 1 of the Act and Part II Paragraph 7Ia) and 12 thereof
The Act has two main principles (1) the obligation to publish certain information about its activities and (2) provide information if requested.
The PC refers to the document entitled “What is the Freedom of Information Act” published by the Information Commissioner’s Office. This is on the village website. The PC adopts what it says and implements its principles.
Further the PC adopts the main principle behind the Act which is that people have a right to know about the activities of public authorities, unless there is a good reason for them not to.
